Summer has begun for the Hesskew fam !!! And we are certainly off and running !!!
Summer always starts with the last day of school, so we had to capture this important milestone of both kids completing their first whole year of Polish school !!!
Here is Arin's last day with her teacher, Pani Monika:
And Kaleb's last day with his teacher, Pani Malgosia:
Both kids did incredibly well adjusting to school in a foreign language !! I wouldn't say they are fluent in Polish, but they are communicating and understanding better every week. We are so thankful for the patience of their teachers. It was a tearful ending to Kaleb's time with Pani Malgosia because we are looking into some other options for his first grade year, so she may not be his teacher next year. She truly loves Kaleb and was not the typical "emotionally reserved Pole" when it came to saying goodbye to our little boy! Please continue to pray wisdom for us as we make decisions on Kaleb's behalf for the best schooling option for him this next school year.
Immediately after those last school days, our family headed out to Wisla, Poland for a company meeting. Wisla is located about 2.5 hours away from Krakow in the beautiful mountains. It was a beautifully scenic getaway full of spiritual blessing and great family time !!!
The kids were blessed with a week of VBS..... in English !!! They had a great time with friends and the volunteer team from the States !!
And our hotel had an indoor water park..........the perfect fun for our two little "fishes" !! We had a blast !!!
Right after returning home to Krakow, we helped a volunteer team from Nashville partner with our Polish church, Misja Laski, in a VBS/Basketball camp. We ministered to 50-65 kids each day............most were from the surronding neighborhood or a village outside of Krakow! We are praying for fruitful connections between the families of these kids and Misja Laski !!
Have I mentioned before that we have a beautiful city to live in? It was a relaxing time of fellowship with some great new friends at the end of a very full week !!
The next day, we had our last Krakow Tigers football game. Some of our new Nashville friends came to help us cheer !! We are sad the season is over, but we pray for spiritually fruitful times to continue with many of the players! Al will continue the weekly Bible study, and then we will invite many into our home who do not yet want to come study the Bible.
