Kayaking in Poland

Last week, we had the opportunity to join some of our new Polish friends on a kayaking trip down the Pilawa River in Northeastern Poland! We originally signed up for what we thought was a "family rafting trip"..........but that simply goes to prove the many gaps we have in comprehending Polish!! But we signed up nonetheless, so we went seeking adventure, quality family time, and the opportunity to be with Poles. We had some sweet fellowship time with brothers and sisters in Christ, and had the opportunity to live out our faith with some who do not yet know Christ as their Savior. There were 15 of us! We kayaked 18-22 kilometers a day, then set up camp at the end of each day! We laughed together, cooked together, played "Go Fish" (Isc Na Ryby), exhausted our Polish vocabulary, and made some incredible memories! The favorite English word for the week was "marshmellow"............we introduced these Poles to S'MORES........they were a hit !!!
Here's a small snapshot of our time on the Pilawa:

It was a great way to end our Summer 2010 !!! Now it's on to a new school year, offseason with the Krakow Tigers, volunteer teams, and who knows what else the Lord has in store...........we can't wait !! Stay tuned......................
