Supposedly, August is a slow month in Poland. Most of the population is "on holiday" where they will take off for up to a month at a time! But our August has been really full...........and blessed.
We have had a couple of really specific answers to prayers that we want to fill you in on before I post some fun pics. We got word during the last week of this past school year that an opportunity had opened up for Kaleb to possibly change schools. I felt like the Lord prompted me to ask about this information we had heard through the grapevine one day when I was picking up Kaleb from school.............and found out that another student had pulled their name off the list just 2 hours before I came by, which opened up exactly 1 spot in the 1st grade class at the small private school! This private school is in the same building as Kaleb's national school from this last year.....but the main difference is that he would be in a class of 12 with 2 teachers instead of a class of 25+ with 1 teacher. So, we began to pray !!! Although we had a great experience in the National Polish school, we felt like the smaller teacher-student ratio would really benefit Kaleb academically...........especially as he continues to learn the language in which he is being taught !!! So, we just found out that all the details have been put into place for Kaleb to make this change for this next school year! We feel that God specifically opened up this spot for our son. His teacher has experience in working with a non-Polish kid because she taught one of our colleagues' sons a few years ago, and is willing to invest in Kaleb! And there is a Mom in that class who speaks both English and Polish who is more than willing to help us..........we are getting our boys together next week so that they will have a familiar friend on the first day of school !! And Kaleb will still have the opportunity to see all his friends and Pani Malgosia from this last year since both classrooms will be on the same floor !! We have been blessed !!!
Really, we are doubly blessed: Albert has continued to meet with several of the football players each week this month.....both in physical conditioning, and Bible study. One of these guys was unable to come to Bible study last week, but asked Al if they could just meet 1-on-1. He shared with Al that he has taken a look at who Jesus Christ is over these months of studying the Word together.........and that he has prayed to ask Jesus to be his Savior! There is no better answer to our/your prayers !!! Al is excited to continue talking with him about the magnitude of this surrender to Christ..........but so humbled too, for God to allow him the opportunity to invest and disciple this friend! Please pray for wisdom and clarity as they explore the reality of becoming a new creation in Christ !!

Even during this "slow month", God has given both of us more opportunities to meet with people who are searching for answers! As a matter of fact, we have heard multiple testimonies of colleagues who have begun to do "street witnessing" here in Krakow. Although there has been very little positive response to this method of sharing in years past, they are finding a different story now! God is working in the hearts of Poles..........right here in Krakow !! Please continue to lift up our time with these people..........and come help us share!
Finally, here are a couple of shots of summer fun with friends:
Picking berries with Ania for a tasty Polish treat:
Park play date with Roksana:
Dinozatorland with Magda and Olie:
New fountain in Krakow--- such fun on a hot day!!!
Saying goodbye to Sophia and her Mommy and Daddy as they move from Krakow:
Breakfast on our patio...........what a life, huh?
